NBA FINALS GAME 3 IN MIAMI

            The Miami Heat had a crazy fourth quarter in game 2 to even the series and become the first team to beat the Nuggets in Denver in this year's playoffs, something the Lakers and Suns couldn't do. We're going to quickly run through the numbers and then bet on the spread and some props. Let's jump in!

The Pick

     These two teams are just so different, the Nuggets are slower and methodical and rely on consistency while the Heat are willing to run around and tire out defenders then get off volume shots. While victorious in game 1, the Nuggets couldn't slow the Heat down in Denver in game two and now that we're going to Miami, the Nuggets should be on edge because they are on the verge of falling behind with another game in Miami Friday.     Not to be ironic, but the Heat are on fire right now. This series has been tight so far despite the 7 seed winning the first two games on the road. The Celtics may be the better team, but the Heat have out hustled them in the second quarter of both games so far. The Heat could really but the nail in the coffin tonight with a 3-0 lead and another game in Miami Tuesday, but the Celtics won't let that happen.         We're trying our hand at soccer again! Last time wasn't our best performance, but we need to get back to the promise land. Today we are taking a look at the EPL as an efficient Arsenal takes on a struggling Chelsea. We have a prop and a pick to give out, so let's jump right in.

        Staring off with the prop, 21-year-old Arsenal sensation Bukayo Saka has been responsible for 16 scores (9 goals, 7 assists) through 16 home PL games this season. Saka has had a goal and assist in 3 of those games as well. Against a struggling club like Chelsea, I expect the young footballer to show out and try to put one in the back of the net.

The nets won't be able to score on the inside when the big man is in the paint, so they're going to have to look for their shooters. Joe Harris has played 13+ minutes both games so far this series and is shooting 1/5 from beyond the arc. When he's on, Joe can be an assassin from outside and with the series finally going home to Brooklyn, this feels like his time to shine.          We're back! Sorry for the brief break, our boy Thommy Doggs had to take care of some insider shark type stuff that is way beyond all of our knowledge, but he's back! Today, we'll be dropping this in the morning on Wednesday regarding the MLB slate for the day, and then tonight we'll release a vlog on loom of Thommy giving out some MLB picks for later this evening. Loom is a site that allows you to screen share videos with coworkers and employers in an attempt to cut down on time wasting meetings and over whelming email.  Wrapping up the Madness

    We're coming to the end of what has been a very exciting NCAA Men's Basketball tournament. We've seen history made with Fairleigh Dickenson being the second ever 16-seed to win a game. We saw the first ever Final Four that didn't consist of a one, two, or three seed. A lot has happened, and it all lead us to the championship game that everyone saw coming from the start, San Diego State vs. Connecticut. If you've been following along this march, we've had a lot of awesome games which march is notorious for producing, but I don't expect the same today. UConn is on track to be make a lot of history this year if they can pull of the win.

• UConn is currently 16-0 against non-conference opponents this season.
• UConn held Miami's #5 offense in the country according to KenPom (79.1ppg) to 59 points.
• UConn held Gonzagas #1 offense in the country according to KenPom (86.1ppg) to 54 points.
• UConn beat two top 5 offenses and allowed 20+ points less than what those teams were averaging.

        I personally bet every pick I give out and use primarily DraftKings. If there's a sportsbook that will allow you to bet college player props, I've seen Sanogo sitting around 7.5 rebounds at around -130. That's a pick that I would love to find but since I can't It's not an official pick. if you have a similar option, I'd definitely consider a 2-3 unit play.

Thommy Doggs Locks

    The safest bet of the night unfortunately sits at -365. If you're a big-time gambler and want to throw a 5-6 unit play down on that and try to win a quick unit or two, go for it. Free money! That's not the Dogg$ way the, Thommy likes to sweat. We've been fed all of this talk about how great UConn is and how SDSU doesn't stand a chance, well I've consumed all of it and I'm now regurgitating it to you! UConn can handle any team and the country, and they've showed it over the past month. I think they've looked very similar to last year's Kansas team with a great coach, an anchor of a big man, and guards who can move the ball with ease. I have UConn continuing the blow out streak and winning by 10+, so with the line set at 7.5 this is a big 3u play for the blog. I also see how easy it is for UConn to shut teams down on offense, and SDSU has a very low scoring offense. the o/u is set at 132.5 and I don't think San Diego St. will sniff 60. This game feels like a 74-52 game with UConn winning, covering, and cashing the under. The final pick is going to be an exciting one for all my first half fanatics. UConn is -4 in the first half @-115 and when San Diego starts slow, they usually stay slow. If UConn can jump out to a 6-7 point lead, SD St. doesn't have the offense to come back from that and will most likely fall behind even further. While I often like parlaying picks like this together, I'm going to start betting picks independent from each other, and also giving them out in the same fashion.

Opening Day 2023

        What's up guys? We're back and ready to right all wrongs! Klay Thompson hurt us the other night, and we won't soon forget this, but it's time to move on! Today we have a tasty slate in front of us with the Opening Day of the MLB for the 2023 season. These early games are often difficult to pick because we haven't yet seen how well some of these teams play together or hoe some of these new rule changes affect the game. What we know right now is the pitch clock has been implemented meaning pitchers will have less time in between pitches to collect themselves. Another thing that is new is the bases are now a few inches bigger. Onye time will tell if this has any true impact on the game as I think it could go either way. Tagging runners out may become easier but reaching bases faster could also happen from the offense's perspective. Finally, the shift has been banned. Managers will be limited to where they position fielders which takes a bit of the analytics out of the game. 

        We all know that baseball has been falling out of the public eye the last decade or two, and the MLB is aware of this. These rules all lean towards more scoring which is what draws attention. What bettors need to be aware of is everyone knows that there will be more scoring, so odds makers will surely skew the lines. If an over is set at 9.5 runs, the is now shame in adjusting the line to 7.5 and playing it safe or maybe even pairing that bet with another similar line to get plus money rolling.

   The Yankees are notorious for scoring at home, and a total set at 6.5 it feels so easy to take the over. Wrong. The Yankees are putting Garret Cole on the mound for opening day and as one of the premier pitchers the league has to offer, expect an all-star performance. I would love to take his over in strike outs but with the new pitch clock rule, it feels too risky. I'm riding under 6.5 runs scored @ -105 and hoping that the Giants defense is able to hold the Yankees around 3 runs.

    I've been talking to a few MLB enthusiasts and the consensus is that the Orioles are an improved and underrated team going into this season. This game is a close call in the books, and for a good reason. The Orioles money line is set very low to +105 and as tempting as it is, we must take the safe route. The O's are a fun opening day road dog for a teaser money line, but guaranteed money lays in Orioles +1.5 @ -180.

   I know it's a bit under whelming giving out only two picks for opening day, but I'm not a baseball wizard, I'm a gambler. The only thing that matters is winning the bets, and that's what we're here to do.

A New Era in Betting

        Welcome fanatics, degenerates, and all other gambler alike! My name is Thommy Doggs, and this is the Lock Picker Betting blog. I decided I wanted to make this blog to give people not only a free, but also fun and interactive environment to gather, talk picks, trends, advice, and anything else sports related all in one place. I've been betting on sports for around two years now and like you, I've visited a lot of different sites, pages, and blogs looking for any sort of advantage I could get. What I want this blog to be is a collection of my daily research into lines and trends in most sports across the board, and then a breakdown on which picks and props to take based on the research findings.

    As a gambler, I've always wondered what my lifetime record was as well as what my lifetime earnings or losings are. With this blog, I will resurrect my gambling life like a phoenix, and rise out of the ashes a new unscathed man with a record of 0-0-0. My goal is going to be to put out three posts a week, most likely Monday-Wednesday-Friday, giving picks on some of the bigger games or games that I feel strongly about. I'll make sure to include some of the Props available on sites like DraftKings, Barstool Sportsbook, and FanDuel. I don't personally use Cesar or any other site, but if I get positive feedback about other sites, you guys use, I'd be more than happy to go make money on them.

    This being the introductory post of Lock Picker, I feel it would be wrong for me to sign off before giving you all at least one lock. Today is March 28th, 2023, and tonight at 10pm eastern, the New Orleans Pelicans travel to the Bay Area to take on the Golden State Warriors. I have formatted this so that you can look at the research collected and formulate a pick of your own before seeing what I'm giving out.
